My name is Ashlee Whigham

Welcome to A Slice Above, the sweeter half of the Whigham Family Kitchen. My name is Ashlee and I'm the baker of this family duo. I created A Slice Above in 2023 after years of building up the courage to pursue operating my own baking business. I grew up in a family of fantastic bakers, but I didn't begin baking myself until I was in college. A relative once mentioned our family would miss out on all the delicious desserts we were accustomed to having at every family gathering if the next generation didn't carry the torch. That statement stuck with me. I couldn't fathom not having my aunt's famous lemon pound cake. Determined not to let go of our traditions, I started with mastering my aunt's renowned lemon pound cake, my absolute favorite! Now I'm bringing my passion for delicious desserts to you. I'm genuinely excited about this endeavor and I'm looking forward to expanding my recipe collection even further. When I'm not baking, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling the world, trying out new restaurants, and watching my son play baseball.
